Alex Gibson, art school confidential, is a fine arts student at the prestigious Cooper Union School of Art in New York. Mastermind behind Bad Smelling Boy and G-I-B-S-O-N, Alex has had no shortage of projects to lend one of his auspicious alter egos to. He dresses up as a femme fatale, makes body pillows with his self portrait on them, and plays Animal Crossing. Alex & I sat down for a mano a mano to discover how some unemployed art fart on a full ride scholarship has it made in New York.
TT: How did you get to be in New York?
AG: For school… Cooper Union, fine art, graduating next spring.
TT: Don’t you feel like art school is a waste of money?
